My favorite thing to do is to run this build either alongside another Particle Rifle Destroyer, or alongside a Volus, and you're going to get 75 assault rifle kills every single game. Even at level one, the PPR is so overpowered on this setup its hilarious. With a Particle Rifle at any level above say, 3 or 4, you will virtually never run out of ammo, and you'll do enough damage to melt any armored target like butter. You get an absolutely obscene amount of ammo, and your task is to run mid-range interference. The idea behind this build is you run parallel to targets, and you are unstaggerable while Devastator Mode is on. If you're just standing there trying to tank, you'll get killed on any class that isn't a juggernaut. You will never be able to stand in direct fire, but keep in mind that Krogan cannot be staggered from the front, only from the sides or behind. You must use cover, the game is all about learning to use cover. This is especially critical if you ever want to play Platinum, since you'll run into far, far too much damage for even the Juggernaut to face tank. Use cover, try to preplan where you should set up, and figure out a route for each map to where the best ammo boxes are, where the best sightlines are, and where you can bunker down to avoid dying between hits you can survive. That's much different from playing the Juggernaut role, where your entire purpose is to soak up virtually all incoming damage. I think you have the idea of tanking a little bit wrong in this game, no doubt due to your preference for the Geth Juggernaut, which while it isn't bad or wrong outright necessarily, "tanking" should mean to you that you can take a hit while peeking out of cover and not die when you peek again. He has very high dps, stagger with proxy mines, shield restore (and stagger) with energy drain, and cloak to increase damage but also get out of tricky situations. I find the Salarian Infiltrator with a geth scanner to be the tankiest class in the game. If you know where enemies are, and can kill them very quickly, then you won't die much even if you aren't using a traditionally tanky class, because everything will be dead before it can kill you.Į.g. Second, get used to using the Geth Scanner with high dps classes (or Hunter Mode on the Geth Infiltrator).

The Turian Cabal has a barrier restoring (though not reviving) power in rank 6a of Biotic Focus (and unlike the others it's not reliant on grenades). The AIU's power will even revive you if you go down. They both have a power that restores shields on demand, like ops packs. So there's two things you can do.įirst, use what are sometimes called crutch classes like the Turian Ghost and the AIU. No matter how high your shields are you're gonna go down. Thing is, there's no class that can just absorb attacks out in the open.
